Some people.... [Mar. 24th, 2010|08:31 am]
Some people make me really dry-heave in real life.

I really don't care when people are shitty to others. Everyone has to follow their own path, and for some that is the path of the shit-head. As grown up people, we have the option of avoiding shit-heads, or choosing to end a relationship with one when we get fed up with shit-headiness.

Shit-heads are people too, they deserve equal time. I just wish they didn't work so hard to convince others that they are not shit-heads (and that anyone who has a problem with them must be one instead).

You know how you act, if you're going to be a shit at least be confident about it and don't try to convince me that you're not.

You've lived with yourself a long time. You know how you are. If you were able to look at yourself through someone else's eyes for 2 minutes you'd HAVE TO realize how grating and unpleasant it is to be around you. You couldn't possible deny that you are a huge part (probably most) of the problem in any given situation.

Sometime I actually respect shit-heads for certain qualities. I admire how they are able to go about their lives without the hindrance of being considerate to others. I admire how they are able to accomplish their goals (usually by stepping on some toes and having no one to share their success with).

BUT- once they play the "I don't know why people don't like me, this is so unexpected." card, they really do lose all of my respect.

Take some goddam responsibility for yourself! Be proud of the choices you've made and the way you conduct yourself but don't misrepresent it. A great (cartoon sailor) man once said, "I am what I am, and that's all that I am."

Being a shit-head is OK.

Trying to take a major piss on someone (for not wanting to deal with your shit anymore) and then try to convince me that its raining is the very definition of NOT OK.

Airlines [Feb. 17th, 2010|09:29 am]
Outraged at Southwest Airlines and the industry in general. Not just because Kevin Smith got booted off a plane for being too fat (which he's not, that situation was complete bs and you can google it to learn more). But that situation is all too common and just makes me mad at the big picture. FACT- Skinny people don't deserve to get squished next to fatties on an airplane. FACT- Fat people don't deserve to be put in that situation either.

I think flight is one of the most miraculous things ever invented. The fact that we can fly never ceases to amaze me. Its almost equally mind boggling that the airline industry hasn't yet thought of a way for big people to fly without being humiliated or inconveniencing others. This just in, there are a lot of fat people in the world, some are really fat, and every once in a while those people have a need to fly on an airplane. I'm not advocating being fat (I actually wouldn't recommend it) but the reason someone is overweight has nothing to do with it. Making a fat person buy 2 seats on a flight is the equivalent of charging an ugly woman twice as much for a make-over. Airplanes are designed to cram as many tiny and uncomfortable seats as possible in them. I don't know who these airlines are designing seats for, Gymnasts? Jockeys? Americans are getting fatter, for good or bad its the truth... airline seats are getting smaller. Its a cash grab and a completely unfair system that is designed to maximize profits with no consideration or respect for the customers. But for now, there is no alternative. The first airline that actually makes some kind accommodation for fat people (not, buy an extra seat) should get a Nobel Prize and everyone's business forever. C'mon mankind, I think we have the technology!

Transformers... [Jun. 24th, 2009|10:44 am]
That movie was a mess, just a big, loud, mess.... I didn't have very high expectations for it, but MAN, I did not expect to be so disappointed by it.... I just had sporadic awesomeness drowned out be a lot of long, drawn out, BORING, (lack of) character stuff....

I sat at work yesterday reading the bad reviews thinking "These people don't know what to expect out of a Transformers movie." I was wrong, the reviews are right... frown.

This guy has had a very interesting life... [May. 27th, 2009|04:54 pm]
HAPPY 87th BIRTHDAY DARTH DRACULASARUMAN!

Christopher Frank Carandini Lee CBE, CStJ (born 27 May 1922) is an English actor and singer. He initially portrayed villains and became famous for his role as Count Dracula in a string of Hammer Horror films. Other notable roles include Lord Summerisle in The Wicker Man (1973), Francisco Scaramanga in The Man with the Golden Gun (1974), Count Dooku in the Star Wars series, as well as Saruman in The Lord of the Rings film trilogy. Lee’s most important role, according to him, was his portrayal of Pakistan’s founder Muhammad Ali Jinnah in the biopic Jinnah (1998). Lee has performed roles in over 220 films since 1948. Along with Rock Hudson, Lou Ferrigno, Vincent Price, Sterling Hayden, Vince Vaughn and few others, he is, at 195.6 centimetres (6 feet, 5 inches), one of the tallest leading actors of all time.

Lee was born in Belgravia, England, the son of Contessa Estelle Marie (née Carandini di Sarzano) and Lieutenant-Colonel Geoffrey Trollope Lee of the 60th King’s Royal Rifle Corps. Lee’s mother was a famous Edwardian beauty who was painted by Sir John Lavery, as well as Oswald Birley and Olive Snell, and was sculpted by Clare F. Sheridan. Lee’s maternal great-grandfather had been an Italian political refugee who sought refuge in Australia; his great-grandmother was Australian opera singer Marie Carandini.

I Voted [Oct. 28th, 2008|09:16 am]
Alright, I voted this morning before work, it took about 5 minutes. This has been the second election that I have been eligible for, but the first one that I was really proud to take part in. Voting today made me feel like a little kid again, when you’re required to do the pledge of allegiance everyday and sing the national anthem in school. I felt very proud to be an American; I have actual hope that the next person in the White House will be someone who exudes “intelligence” and “sound judgment”. Someone who speaks to the rest of the world, they might look at him and think “Maybe Americans aren’t so bad”.

I think that separate from any policy, or tax cut, the President should come off as the MOST qualified person in the world to speak on your behalf to the rest of man kind. When you see him on TV addressing the world you should be thinking “hell yea, that’s my President, knock ‘em dead”; not “Jesus, is he drunk?” or “I hope the rest of the world realizes we’re not all like that”.

Although a President’s policies are paramount, I think that people underestimate the importance of their persona. The way they keep their composure, the way they deal with tough questions, and even the way they spin the truth in their favor (every politician does this) all have a great affect on how America is viewed by both friends and enemies. With my candidate in office I feel confident that they will represent all of us well each time they open their mouth to speak. I know that in any other situation, whether this person was your lawyer, your kid’s teacher, or your boss at work he’d still be someone who you could trust, someone who you’d respect, someone you could believe in to do the right thing. I am definitely looking forward to the next 4 years.
